Long Beach, California
No, the world doesn’t revolve around the Long Beach Convention Center, it just feels that way, especially in summer. As days get longer, so does the list of things to do near the Convention Center, things that range from active to delicious, educational to however you define axe-throwing. Head to Shoreline Village and enjoy great seafood or jump on a whale watching boat or into the Aquarium of the Pacific to see it in person. Rent a bike and ride the three-mile paved path intersecting the city’s beaches. Walk across The Rainbow Bridge connecting Convention Center to Performing Arts Center and enjoy live theater or live performances ranging from symphony to stand up comedy. Head Downtown to enjoy dining and drinking experiences offering small plates, thick steaks, sports bars and underground tiki lounges. And, yes, axe-throwing. And, yes, all of it within a 10-minute walk of the Convention Center.
