Washington, DC
Washington, DC’s revitalized historic Wharf in the Southwest Waterfront neighborhood is leading to one of the city’s hottest waterfront destinations for live entertainment, dining, shopping and sleeping in style.
The Wharf’s phase two development opened in October 2022, completing the mile-long stretch along the Potomac River and adding a boutique Pendry Hotel with 131 rooms and three new restaurants, new retail space, a marina, and plenty of promenades, parks and public spaces. Among some 20 new restaurants, the two-story Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen juts out into the Potomac River.
Designed and constructed to achieve Gold certification for LEED Neighborhood Development, the Wharf was recently designated the city’s first Mobility Innovation District (MID), a sustainability initiative that will improve the equitable access to electric-powered transportation for residents and visitors in Southwest and create a global innovation hub.
